ROBREDO: “I KNOW IT WAS DIFFICULT TO DEFEND THE TITLE”
Defending champion Tommy Robredo was ousted from Open SEAT Godo 2005 by countryman Alberto Martín, who defeated him 6-1 6-4. Robredo knew that defending the title would be difficult after some week out of competition because of an injury. “After one month without competition, losing was a normal thing, besides Beto played very well and I didn’t feel so well. I know that winning the tournament would be difficult, it was not my goal. I only expected to play and to compete again”.
In spite of losing, Robredo feels that he is ready to play well again, he is trying to get a will card for next week at the Estoril event: “I trained a lot and now I need to play matches”.
